The Trading Team are responsible for how we drive long term value and customer growth at TalkTalk. We’re Accountable for the go to market strategy for new and existing products right across the customer lifecycle from the sale to cancelations, we coordinate with many stakeholders across the Direct Consumer business unit.
As Trading Manager you'll be accountable for the Go-To-Market plan for Fibre including defining the strategy, coordinating the execution, and then optimising the performance of the plan in order to deliver long term value to TalkTalk.
You work across many stakeholders to take our products and service to market in the most effective way, requires a deep understanding of what our competitors are doing as well as what is going on internally.
How will I add value in the role?
Be accountable for the go to market strategy for Fibre across both New Acquisition and Inlife sales. Defining the strategy, agreeing the approach and targets across marketing and channels to deliver and exceed the budget targets.
Optimising for lifetime value by balancing the volume and value delivered – this will include the mix of products sold and boosts attached at point of sale, the depth of offers used, the customer demand drivers, channel mix. Consideration of the impact on tenure and churn in the chosen approach is also key to drive lifetime value.
Once the go to market strategy has been agreed, it’s then all about the day-to-day trading to deliver the KPIs. Developing a deep understanding of the drivers of performance and deciding where corrective action might be needed. Constantly curious you will be motivated by understanding the root causes of performance and continually ask “why?” in order to form a view on where the next opportunity might come from
What do I need in order to deliver in the role?
The perfect candidate will have good relationship building skills, be able to analyse data and use it to make decisions or get support for change.
You'll be self-motivated and restless to drive constant improvement is especially important in the hybrid office/home working of the future
You will be an excellent communicator and storyteller, being able to translate often complicated reasons for performance into simple Director and Exec level summaries using numbers, charts, and words.
Having strong Excel skills is a must. You must be able to clearly articulate what is happening but also why it’s happening along with any recommendations for change, in a way that enables quick and easy decision making.
You'll have strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence across marketing, channels, commercial and finance – whilst the accountability for overall performance sits with you, many of the levers sit in other teams so being able to persuade and influence is key to your success
