Microsoft Azure Data Platform design and development experience (Gen2 preferable) using Azure storage, Azure SQL DWH, SQL DB, Data Factory, Logic Apps
Kimball dimensional modelling experience
Source control and deployment pipelines using ADO or VSTS or Git
Design and build robust data pipelines to provision and transform data in Azure Cloud platform
In-depth SQL knowledge with experience interrogating data from large relational databases
Nice to have:
Data integration development experience using SSIS, ETL frameworks and use of accelerators like BIML
Understanding of software development lifecycles building/using SDKs and APIs
Scripting knowledge like Python, Powershell, T-SQL
Agile delivery experience
Analysis Services, Machine Learning, Power BI
Cloud data security principles
PII tokenisation, GDPR data application
Relevant Microsoft certifications
About the Data Engineer role:
The provisioning of data from TalkTalk’s Enterprise Data Platform is a key enabler to effective decision making within TalkTalk. The Data Engineer role is key to this, designing and building data models and ETL processes to make data available to stakeholders.
How will I add value in this role?
- Design and build robust data pipelines to provision and transform data in Azure cloud platform
- Act as SME for the Enterprise Data Platform and its underlying technologies providing support to end users and stakeholders
- Provide solution options / proof of concepts to various data requirements
