Software Delivery Team Leader - TalkTalk - Manchester

What does this role mean?

The clue is in the name... you'll be responsible for the performance and development of your team members and ensuring the team work together to deliver the work on time and of a good quality. You will look after a team of System Designers, Developers and Testers who you will need to collaborate in order to meet customers' requirements.

Key responsibilities of the role:

The first element to this role will be software delivery focused - ensuring quality of the Systems Design, Code & Test Artifacts. You'll need to lead your team to deliver their user stories within the scope of a release and to customer's requirements first time. You will perform release planning in consultation with your team and the Delivery Manager & Release Manager and from there report on the progress. Promoting best practices through daily meetings and introducing new ways of working will be key to helping improve efficiency and reduce the number of live defects found over successive releases.

The other side to this role is focused on people leadership. You will need to motivate and inspire to ensure you have an engaged and high performing team - leading by example; providing enthusiasm, drive and energy to succeed, and by being an positive example to peers, direct reports, managers and their teams.You'll be managing both your team's performance and their personal growth and development. Another part of your role will be resource management as well as ensuring deadlines are followed and more importantly maintaining the well-being of your team members. Collaboration with peers in other departments is also important to make sure we are working as efficiently as possible.
