What does life look like for a Software Developer in Test in this team?
As a software developer in test, you’ll work with business partners, engineers, data scientists, and UX designers to design, implement the testing strategy, deliver, document, and maintain complex applications, tools, systems and services.
You will assist in analysing business metrics and functional requirements and translate them into robust and scalable technical solutions.
You will learn cutting-edge technologies and processes and develop well rounded skills such as data analysis, leadership and effective programme management.
What impact will my role make?
You will design automated tests by creating scripts that run testing functions automatically. This includes determining the priority for test scenarios and creating execution plans to implement these scenarios.
You’ll also design documentation for automated processes. These documents include test plans, test procedures and test cases.
Part of your role will be to gather requirements from colleagues, customers, partners and other stakeholders and translate them into detailed test designs; including where appropriate key external interfaces, design patterns, libraries and other constructs.
You will also use testing frameworks and tools for creating and designing test cases more efficiently to reduce maintenance costs and testing efforts while making test automation code reusable, maintainable, and stable.
An exciting part of this role is that you are responsible for researching, recommending, and implementing tools to increase automation on the project. You’ll introduce innovative automated testing strategies and toolsets into the overall development processes, particularly CI/CD tools.
What do you need from me?
A willingness to improve practices, and care about doing good work is also key as well as the ability to see the big picture, not just the code
